Gr.2 winning ShamExpress mare Zola Express returned to her Autumn form in emphatic style at Otaki yesterday when producing a dominant last to first winning performance.

Trained by Janelle Millar at New Plymouth and winner of the Gr.2 Manawatu RC Awapuni Gold Cup over 2000m last Autumn, Zola Express relished the Dead 5 racing surface and the 1600m journey, delivering a withering burst of finishing speed, to win by a comfortable 2 ¼ length margin in the Otaki Maori RC Cavallo Farm & Chris Rutten Handicap.

The winner of 6 races and $215,112 in prizemoney, Zola Express is raced on lease from her breeders Windsor Park Stud and the Alchemy Family Trust with the versatile mare also having won the 2040m Listed Wanganui Cup and finishing runnerup in the Gr.3 Taranaki Cup on her home track.
