"Ride Sally Ride" for daughter of Turn Me Loose
3 March 2025

LOOSE SALLY (Turn Me Loose) was most impressive in Saturday's Dunedin Guineas (Listed) sustaining a wide run and clearing away for a 2.25 length victory.
The imposing type of filly from Sally's Mustang (Nicconi), has built a reputation for her lethal finishing bursts including a barnstorming finish on debut and another powering home for 3rd in the NZB Insurance stakes.
“It is a massive thrill to go back-to- back and win again (having won it last year with Collect Your Cash). She missed a run last time and I was a little concerned about lining her up, but she is fit, and they are only three (years old) once. “She does have good ability, and she proved that today. “The speed was on early, and the boy did a great job as he knows the horse well having done a lot of work on her. “He knew what to do which was to get back, not pull out too early and get some cover which was good as she is a big filly and needs some room. “When he pushed the button, she just grew another leg.” commented her ecstatic trainer, Shankar Muniandy. "Ideally I would like to get her to Riccarton for those 3YO fillies stakes races as she will love Riccarton"
LOOSE SALLY now takes her stake earnings to over $121,000.
LOOSE SALLY was not the only horse to achieve black type for her sire TURN ME LOOSE, with SMOOTH OPERATOR powered home for 2nd in the listed Dunedin Gold Cup to put black type next to his 6 career wins for the Stephanie Faulkner trained gelding.
TURN ME LOOSE has had 46 individual winners this season with progeny earnings over A$2,200,000. LOOSE SALLY became the sire's 8th individual stakeswinner to join LICKETY SPLIT (Gr.1), PRIX DE TURN (Gr.2), LOOSE SPENDER (Gr.2), WESSEX (Gr.3), ALABAMA GOLD (Gr.3), TURN THE ACE (L) & ANCIENT GIRL(L).
