Paddington filly sells for €230,000 at Goffs Orby Book 1

A filly from the first crop of four-time Group 1 winner PADDINGTON sold for €230,000 to Hurworth Bloodstock, emerging as one of the highlights of Goffs Orby Book 1.

Offered by Mountarmstrong Stud, the bay filly is out of the stakes-winning Dandy Man mare Rapacity Alexander, a full-sister to Hong Kong Group 1 winner Peniaphobia and descends from a Danehill line mare.

Rapacity Alexander is also the dam of Group 1 Matron Stakes winner No Speak Alexander. The Shalaa mare has already added further distinction to the family as the dam of Silent Beauty, this year’s winner of the Group 3 Firth of Clyde Stakes and the Listed Ripon Champion Two Yrs Old Trophy Stakes.

A €420,000 yearling himself, PADDINGTON went on to win four Gr. 1 races (Irish Two Thousand Guineas, St James's Palace Stakes, Sandown Eclipse Stakes and Goodwood Sussex Stakes) all in 68 days, as a 3YO and was crowned Champion Miler and Champion Three-Year-Old of his year.

His first New Zealand crop are now yearlings and have been warmly received by breeders, vendors and bloodstock representatives, with strong representation expected in Australasia’s leading sales.

Already at the 2026 New Zealand Bloodstock Weanling Sale, Byerley Bloodstock of Western Australia secured the PADDINGTON colt out of Minnaleo for $190,000.

PADDINGTON stands in 2026 for a fee of $30,000 + GST and will again serve a capacity book of mares.
