Continuing on his winning way the Daniel Meagher trained LIM’S SALTORO, who has now won 8 races from 9 starts, once again displayed great determination when bulldogging his way to the lead early in the home straight and then fighting off all challenges on his way to victory.

The success takes LIM’S SALTORO earnings in Singapore to NZ$436,425, with any queries about him seeing out a strong 1600m quashed with some conviction due to the manner of the victory.

The win presents a potential clean sweep of the triumvirate of four-year-old Group races for the son of SHAMEXPRESS who already has the Silver Bowl (1400m) in keeping with the upcoming Gr.1 Singapore Derby (1800m) in three weeks time the final race in the series.

“He’s a very good horse, isn’t he?” said an understated Meagher.

“He had to fight through that gap and he was going to the line as good as anything, so onwards and upwards with the Derby”.

Meagher was succinct when queried about any concerns over the 1800m trip in the Singapore Derby for LIM’S SALTORO.

“No,” he replied.

LIM’S SALTORO highlighted another stellar weekend of results for successful Windsor Park sire SHAMEXPRESS whose topclass Group winning son SHAMUS and JESKO ABSOLUT formed a winning double at Ruakaka for their sire the previous day.

SHAMEXPRESS has also recently been represented by Hong Kong superstar sprinter KA YING RISING, the winner of 5 of his 7 starts in the Dominion and successful last month in the Gr.3 Sha Tin Vase on his final appearance for the season.
