Group winner for Charm Spirit

An incredible week of success continued for hot young Windsor Park Stud shuttler Charm Spirit (Invincible Spirit) when he sired his first stakes-winner overnight in England with progressive filly Yourtimeisnow taking out the Gr. 3 Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury.

Yourtimeisnow, a last start winner at Newbury, is trained by Roger Varian and produced a dominant performance to hold off all challengers and win the Gr.3 event.

“Yourtimeisnow has plenty of natural pace as well as a big heart and this was a really gutsy display off the front end. She holds an entry for the Gr.2 Rockfel Stakes and I don’t see why she wouldn’t stay the trip, so that would look the next logical port of call given she is now a Group Three winner”’ said Varian.

Leading jockey Andrea Atzeni was equally impressed.

"Yourtimeisnow has got so much natural speed. I was a bit worried about the ground before the race. She goes on it but ideally wants some dig in the ground. Mentally and physically she's getting better and could be anything,"

A 120,000 guinea purchase for her trainer from the Tattersalls October Book One Sale, Yourtimeisnow is out of the successful producer Maid For Winning (Gone West).

Charm Spirit’s week began with daughters Enchanted Linda and Royal Dynasty providing a quinella in England and this was quickly followed by Sea Race scoring back to back wins for her sire the following day.

Then it was the turn of his son Glorious Charmer to extend Charm Spirit’s first crop tally of individual winners to 15 on Wednesday.

A triple Group I winner and highest earning son of Invincible Spirit, Charm Spirit also recently sired his first southern hemisphere trials winner at Te Teko last month.
