Charm Spirit rubber stamps international appeal

Continuing the northern hemisphere trend, strong international demand for the first yearlings by Invincible Spirit’s triple Gr.1 winning son Charm Spirit was confirmed at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale last week.
A world class miler, Charm Spirit registered a sales average of $A216,125 with his progeny selling up to A$300,000. His results were responsible for the highly sought after young sire finishing second on the Freshman Sires table at the sale.

The first yearling by Charm Spirit through the Gold Coast salering was a classy filly from Bayrock, purchased by leading Victorian trainer Ciaron Maher for A$300,000.
Bayrock’s filly was followed a short while later by another daughter of Charm Spirit from Burlesque who was knocked down to Denise Martin’s Star Thoroughbreds for A$205,000. Burlesque’s filly will join the stable of champion trainer Chris Waller as will the Charm Spirit colt from Freequence, purchased by Mulcaster Bloodstock for A$220,000.
$140,000 was the price required for leading Adelaide trainer Phillip Stokes to secure the only other progeny of Charm Spirt on offer, a strapping colt from Bryony.
The impressive performance by Charm Spirit in Australia is sure to focus attention on his progeny at New Zealand Bloodstock’s yearling sales series at Karaka later this month where Invincible Spirit’s highest earning son has 55 yearlings catalogued for sale.
