An impressive quinella at Te Aroha for young stallion Mongolian Khan showed the emergence of two young staying 3yo's. Namely Shere Khan (ex Paracetamol) and Grandos (ex Goyescas). The pair were able to peel away from the opposition in the 2200 meter maiden and cleared the field by 2 - 1/2 Lengths.

Shere Khan, bred by Bruce Mahood who shares in the ownership with Andrew Dally and trained by Janenne Dally was able to make amends of the appreciated step up in distance and showed a real determination to win having been pressured for the lead early on.

Grandos also who appreciated the trip, was able to stick on gamely after getting a nice run just in behind the pace and fight on gamely going down by a margin of a neck. Grandos is bred and owned by Sir Peta Vela and trained by the Baker/ Forsman team.

Mongolian Khan is now compiling a nice group of horses including Amfissa, Breeze'n'Luna, Mongolian Brave, Mongolian Wings, My Squeeze Louise and Supreme Khan.
