Freshman sires ShamExpress (O’Reilly) and Charm Spirit (Invincible Spirit) who both stand at Windsor Park Stud continue to make a deep impression with an ever-increasing list of first-crop winners.

On Sunday evening, debut Singapore 2YO Mr Hooper provided ShamExpress with his sixth individual first-crop winner when successful against older horses over 1200m.

While in the Northern Hemisphere a double for Charm Spirit with Forseti and Oberyn Martell last Thursday was quickly followed by a brace of weekend winners with debutante Aquarius scoring at Newmarket on Saturday and Early Time winning in France overnight, giving Charm Spirit four winners in five days.

Charm Spirit is Great Britain’s Leading First Season sire by both winners and wins, while ShamExpress heads the equivalent tables in New Zealand.
