In a blockbuster result at the weekend, leading freshman sire ShamExpress produced a superb black-type quinella with London Express defeating Qiji Express in the Listed Castletown Stakes.
"For him to have five individual winners including a black-type quinella is a very promising sign for his future," said studmaster Rodney Schick.
"He was a very fast horse with a middle distance pedigree and physically he's a bull, very powerful and good-looking and he puts that into his progeny", concluded Schick.
By champion sire O'Reilly out of Volksrose, a daughter of champion sire Volksraad, ShamExpress was a top-quality Australian galloper with victory in the Gr.1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) as a three-year-old a career highlight.
ShamExpress’ progeny have been well received throughout Australasian sales rings with his colts selling to $510,000 and his fillies selling to $360,000.
The hot run of form by the exciting young sire looks set to continue with many more unraced trial winners due to run in the near future.
