12 Winners for Charm Spirit
07 AUG 2018 | BY TARA MADGWICK
Exciting young Windsor Park shuttler Charm Spirit (Invincible Spirit) added a 12th winner to this tally in the UK overnight with a resounding victory at Windsor for Lively Lydia.
Trained by Eve Johnson Houghton, Lively Lydia bolted clear to win the six furlong maiden by five lengths in a big field of 14.
She was a short priced favourite having finished fifth and third at her first two outings and looked well capable of winning better races.
Lively Lydia is the sixth winner from stakes-placed Daylami mare Coventina.
A triple Group I winning son of Invincible Spirit, Charm Spirit has made a positive impression at Australasian yearling sales this year with his first Southern Hemisphere bred yearlings.
Charm Spirit had 30 yearlings average $112,000 at Karaka Book 1 and also had four yearlings average $216,250 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast.
His yearlings sold for up to $400,000 with his top seller a filly from Lady Kipling sold by Windsor Park Stud at Karaka and bought by Ciaron Maher / Waterford Bloodstock.
Charm Spirit stands for fee on application.
