Charm Spirit racks up #9
07 Jul 2017 | By racenews

Charm Spirit (Invincible Spirit) recorded his ninth first-crop winner overnight when the Henry de Bromhead trained debutante, Chicago May (Charm Spirit), landed the opening 2YO event over 1400m at Naas, beating Channel Surfer (Kitten’s Joy) by two and a half lengths, with Cruciatus (Teofilo) a half length back in third.

The win came hot on the heels of his first Irish 2YO winner Bailly (Charm Spirit), who won the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 2YO impressively on Friday in Ireland, when landing a significant gamble, Bailly cleared right away from her opposition over the 1000m journey to win at just her second start by 4 ½ lengths.

Charm Spirit has made a wonderful start with his first northern hemisphere runners and shuttles to Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand, were his first southern hemisphere runners are due to hit the racetracks in Australasia this Spring.
