Shadwell snaps up Charm Spirit yearling
21 Aug 2017 | By Racenews

A beautifully made yearling colt by triple Gr.1-winning first season sire Charm Spirit (Invincible Spirit) was sold for €500,000 on the opening day of the Arqana yearling Sales in France at the weekend.

The bay colt, from the first crop of Charm Spirit, was bought by agent Angus Gold on behalf of Shadwell France.

“He’s a very nice individual”, commented Gold.

“Charm Spirit was a very good racehorse himself and this colt is a half-brother to a top-class filly (dual Gr.1 winner Qemah)”.

“I thought he was a smart horse every time I saw him and fortunately Sheikh Hamdan agreed with me”.

Charm Spirit is the highest earning son of leading international sire Invincible Spirit (Green Desert) and shuttles to Windsor Park Stud, Cambridge where he stands for a fee of $18,000 + GST.
