Windsor Park bred superstar Debt Collector (Thorn Park), unbeaten in 6 starts in 2016 and winner in excess of S$1.39 million, scooped the major prizes at the 2016 Singapore Racing Awards held this week.

A $30,000 Windsor Park Karaka yearling sales graduate, Debt Collector won the coveted Horse Of The Year title as well as four other awards including Champion 3YO and Champion Miler while another Windsor Park bred galloper Well Done (Falkirk) was crowned Champion 4YO.

The Cliff Brown-trained Debt Collector demonstrated a devastating turn of foot in all his six wins, including the last two Legs of the Singapore Three-Year-Old Challenge and the first two Legs of the Singapore Triple Crown Series which included three Group 1 successes – the Gr.1 Singapore Guineas, the Gr.1 Panasonic Kranji Mile and the Gr.1 Raffles Cup.

Well Done, trained by David Kok, secured the Champion 4YO title on the back of scintillating victories in the Gr.1 Patron’s Bowl and Gr.1 Emirates Singapore Derby, the second and third Legs respectively of the Singapore Four-Year-Old Challenge.

Underscoring the value on offer at Karaka, Windsor Park sales graduate Well Done was bought for $90,000 and to date has won S$1.28 million.

Yet another yearling sold from Windsor Park’s Karaka sales draft is world class Hong Kong-based sprinter Aerovelocity (Pins) who recently won his second Gr.1 Longines Hong Kong Sprint.

Hailed ‘the bravest of the brave’ champion Aerovelocity was knocked down to trainer Paul O’Sullivan for $120,000 and has won 12 of his 24 races including Gr.1 races in Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore for prizemoney totalling $7.82 million.

At this month’s 2017 NZ Bloodstock Karaka sales Windsor Park will offer 34 Premier Session yearlings while they have 28 yearlings catalogued for sale in their Select Session draft.
