14 Jan 2017 | By Racenews

A much admired daughter of First Season sire Shamexpress (O’Reilly) confirmed her promise when selling at the Magic Millions Yearling Sales on the Gold Coast yesterday.

The powerfully built bay filly, catalogued as Lot 688, was knocked down to the bid of Derby winning trainer Trent Busuttin for $300,000.

The filly is among the first yearlings to be offered by the 2013 Gr.1 Newmarket Handicap winner Shamexpress and is a half sister to the Group winning sprinter Soubrettes (High Chaparral).

Shamexpress was also represented earlier in the catalogue by a daughter of the young Fastnet Rock mare New Age Rocka who was purchased by Jason Abraham’s Champion Thoroughbreds for $130,000.

Shamexpress will be further represented at the upcoming New Zealand Bloodstock yearling sales series at Karaka later this month where he has 38 yearlings catalogued for sale.
