When Falkirk four-year-old Well Done won the Gr.1 Patrons Bowl in Singapore on Sunday he became the third Asian Group One winner this season to salute the judges for breeders Windsor Park Stud.
Carrying a close-up duplication of the great racehorse and sire Vain, a factor evident in the background of many of Falkirk’s best progeny including Hong Kong Derby winner Fay Fay and stakes winning racemares Arietta and Makkura, Well Done is the out of the multiple Group winning racemare Gold Cloud (Truly Vain).
Well Done is the tenth foal of Gold Cloud who had previously produced the excellent Hong Kong galloper Luminous (8 wins & HK$4.4 million) and Australian racemare Liming (4 wins).
Two other Asian Gr.1 winners bred by Windsor Park this year are world class sprinter Aerovelocity (11 wins & $5.7 million), who won the Gr.1 Centenary Sprint Cup in January and boom Singapore 3YO Debt Collector, winner of his last four starts including the Gr.1 Singapore Guineas in May.
Well Done, Debt Collector and Aerovelocity were all sold by Windsor Park through NZ Bloodstock sales with both Aerovelocity ($120,000) and Debt Collector ($30,000) graduates of the yearling sales series while Well Done ($90,000) was sold at the Ready To Run Sale.
Windsor Park will once again present their annual draft at the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run sale next November.
