Windsor Park-bred Aerovelocity crowned Champion Sprinter

The Windsor Park-bred and Paul O’Sullivan-trained Aerovelocity (NZ) (Pins) was crowned Champion Sprinter, in recognition of his remarkable performance in winning three Group 1 events in three different countries and regions, at the Hong Kong Champion Awards overnight. 

Winner this season of the Gr.1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint (1200m), Singapore’s Gr.1 KrisFlyer International Sprint (1200m) and the first foreign-bred winner of Japan’s Gr.1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen (1200m), Aerovelocity also defeated Hong Kong Horse Of The Year Able Friend when winning the HK-Gr.2 Premier Bowl (1200m) this term.

The winner of 10 races from 18 starts and over NZ$4.8 million, Aerovelocity was a $120,000 purchase by O'Sullivan from the Windsor Park Stud yearling sales draft at the NZ Bloodstock Karaka Premier Sale in 2010.
