Group One treble caps golden day for sireline
23 Mar 2015 | By Racenews

If any further endorsement of Sadler’s Wells as a global breeding colossus was needed then Sydney’s Rosehill racetrack in Australia provided it at the weekend.

The influence of the 14-times champion sire was there for all to see with three Gr.1 races won by male-line descendents of Sadler’s Wells. Two of those races were the 2000m Weight-For-Age Ranvet Stakes, won by his grandson Contributer (High Chaparral) and the 2000m Rosehill Guineas for 3YO’s, won by his great grandson Volkstok’n’barrell (Tavistock).

The result of the Gr.1 Golden Slipper run over 1200m, the world’s richest race for 2YO’s, added further kudos as the winner Vancouver (Medaglia D’Oro)is also from the Sadler’s Wells sireline.

The Rosehill Group One treble confirms the evolving versatility of this breed-shaping stallion.
